Applying For Your NIE

Completing the application form for your N.I.E (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) is quite straightforward. After filling in your passport number, complete the remainder of the boxes as follows:-

“H” for Male (Hombre)
“M” Female (Mujer)

S for single
C for married
V for widow
D for divorced

País de nacionalidad Nationality
Nombre del Padre Father's Name
Nombre de la Madre Mother's Name
Domicilio en España Address in Spain

Section 4 These are the details of the person applying on your behalf, i.e. a gestor, solicitor or other representing agent.

Your representative’s address which should be left blank if applying personally.

Sign the form at the bottom, under 'firma de solicitante' and date it accordingly.

Take the original and a photocopy, along with your passport (plus a photocopy) to the National Police station. You will be told when to return to collect the number. Remember, when you do return you must take your copy of the form and your passport with you.
