Over 2.5 million tourists visit Granada Province annually.

The City of Granada itself records an average population of 236,982 (rec.2005) which can rise up to 275,000 with the student influx.

The University of Granada has University Campuses in the Spanish cities of Ceuta and Melilla, both of which are located in North Africa.

Granada is home to 3 football teams: Granada 74, Granada, Granada Atlético

There are many historical figures who were born in Granada, the most famous of which was Federico García Lorca (1898-1936), the poet renowned for being shot by the firing squad during the Spanish Civil War. Other famous Granadinos include:-
