The Salobreña Tourist Office has developed a system whereby tourist information can be downloaded for free onto your mobile phone using Bluetooth technology.

Taking advantage of new technologies and to assist visitors who require tourist information when the tourist office is closed, the Department of Tourism has erected an antenna on the roof of the tourist office that allows Bluetooth enabled mobile phones to download information from ' Tourism Salobreña '.

Information can be downloaded on all manner of things relating to tourism in Salobreña, including information on hotels and hostels, sporting and cultural events, exhibitions, monuments, and historical points of interest in Salobreña.

To download the information you need to be in range of the tourist office in Salobreña in the Plaza de Goya, where information on the download procedure can be found.

How to download the information

The procedure for downloading the information quite straightforward:

Check and/or activate the Bluetooth connection of your mobile.

Wait for the office to detect your connection; this should take somewhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, depending on the number of connections established.

Once the system detects your phone, it will ask you if you want to connect to ‘Tourism Salobreña’. Accept the connection.

You can now choose what information you wish to download. Download times will vary depending on the mobile and its proximity to the antenna. The downloaded content will be stored in the Bluetooth directory or folder.

Downloaded information can be transmitted to other Bluetooth enabled mobiles as required.
