August

Arguably the craziest fiesta in the whole of Spain takes place on the last Wednesday in August in the little town of Buńol, in Valencia. It is known as ‘La Tomatina’ and consists of an hour long tomato throwing (good natured!) fight. Granada doesn’t go to quite such extremes to entertain its visitors; however there are a multitude of less bizarre fiestas occurring throughout the province.

The following villages have fiestas scheduled in August. Since the dates may vary each year, please follow the website links for up to date information.
